“Global Reach, Local Touch – How Streams of Culture are Shaping our Future” was the motto at the SIETAR Europe Congress (Society of Intercultural Training and Research) from 18th to 21st September in Tallinn, Estonia. More than 300 intercultural trainers and consultants from all corners of the world met there to compare notes on new consulting and training approaches and best-practice examples from various cultures. Ti communication supported this issue by serving as one of the primary sponsors of the congress. In this regard, Gerhard Hain, managing partner of ti communication and a participant in Tallinn, stressed that it is extremely important to actively participate in the further development of existing concepts, thus enabling a more efficient and profitable use of existing know-how for our customers.

Excitement, games and intercultural communication at NACHT.SCHAFFT.WISSEN.2013 (“Night.Makes.Knowledge.2013”)!

With ti communication, your next corporate event can become an intercultural experience! You’re in for a surprise. Through an entertaining lecture on intercultural topics or an interactive simulation, we convey the basics of intercultural know-how at events for 100 persons or more. Ask us about it! We will help you develop your idea! ti communication recently set new standards on Friday, 26th April 2013, within the context of the event NACHT.SCHAFFT.WISSEN in Regensburg. In step with the motto “Experience innovation”, institutes of higher education and companies opened their doors until midnight, allowing about 10,000 visitors a peek at their daily work. This year, ti communication once again took part, inviting people to join in an exciting game in which approximately 80 participants were able to interactively experience what it means to surmount communication difficulties between people with different “backgrounds”.

“The Living Ocean and Coast” is the theme of the Expo 2012 in Yeosu, Korea. More than 100 nations are taking part in the expo this year, including Germany. On behalf of the Federal Ministry for Science and Technology (BMWi) and organized by the Hamburg Messe und Congress (HMC), the task was to present German science and technology in an informative and entertaining way. The agency “facts and fiction” was entrusted with designing the concept and the content of the German pavilion. In order to make an impact at the Expo with regard to intercultural issues as well, the team at facts and fiction were supported by ti communication trainer Suk-Geoung Han.

Munich Re is one of the world’s leading reinsurance companies. It employs over 11,400 people worldwide. With the credo “Diversity – is our strength”, Munich Re is strongly aiming at integrating the different cultural backgrounds of its staff. This strategy is reflected by the increasing number of inpats coming to work in the Munich headquarter, bringing with them their experience from the markets and introducing an international approach to business. In 2009, after recognising the challenges that some executives and their families from abroad faced in Germany, Munich Re started to provide intercultural training for the inpats. In 2010, in cooperation with ti communication, a comprehensive intercultural support programme was developed, geared to the needs of foreigners in the work and living environment in Munich.
